Paints and Inks - Priming for every transit scenario
SilverSkin™ Thermal Covers for Paints and Inks
The variations in pigments, compounds and bases that make up paints and inks mean that manufacturers must exercise real diligence when shipping these temperature-sensitive products. While temperature-controlled protection for transporting paint and ink powders must guard against moisture and excessive heat, it is often colder conditions that cause the biggest problems to liquids.
SilverSkin™ thermal covers for paints and inks have been configured to provide next-generation protection for transporting different paint and ink types, in any shipping scenario.
SilverSkin™ features for paints and inks
Protects during on and off-loading
Covering all the bases
Water-based paints and inks are ruined when they freeze. Their solvent-based counterparts, with their volatile organic compounds (VOCs), are more resilient. However, if temperatures get too cold, the chemical bonds within solvent-based mixtures can break, leading to loss of quality or rejection.
At the opposite extreme above 30°C, the delicate balance in these products can be compromised, leading to clotting or clumping that reduces usability. Dry powders are also susceptible to high humidity. Advanced heat protection for transporting paints and inks are designed to allay the fears of manufacturers and wholesalers.
Keeping the elements at bay
SilverSkin™ thermal quilts for paints and inks help delay heat transfer during exposure to windchill, direct sunlight or sub-zero temperatures. When configured as SilverSkin™ drum covers for paints and inks (often the safest, most efficient way to transport and store chemical compounds and liquid goods), or as Intermediate Bulk Container covers, they regulate shipment temperatures by providing a durable, reflective barrier between your cargo and the air around it. This protects goods from extreme temperature spikes, often encountered on the ground during breaks in the cold chain.
All SilverSkin™ thermal covers for paints and inks not only protect against temperature-related spoilage and costly damage, they also provide a shield against water, condensation, contamination and tampering.
Innovation for protection
With innovation ever-present, SilverSkin™ thermal covers for paints and inks incorporate the latest, most advanced technologies with variations in insulation layers, thickness, weight, and tear and corrosion resistance. SilverSkin™ thermal covers for paints and inks are also incredibly lightweight, easy to fit and store, and therefore very economical.
To ensure optimal performance, the entire range has been designed to offer peak performance by being rigorously tested and qualified in thermal test chambers and real-life scenarios. This allows single and palletised multi-drum paint and ink consignments to be transported confidently over any distance.
